Outside of the ski resorts of Vail Colorado and Beaver Creek Colorado you will find the unincorporated area of Eagle County Colorado.  Longing for more of a mountain ranch experience, more and more people are building in this area within close proximity of expensive ski resort real estate.

Eagle County has created both requrements and incentives under it’s ECOBuild program.  Under the ECOBuild regulations, new homes or large expansion projects are regulated based on the size of the home.  Homeowners are awarded “points” for geothermal heating, solar energy systems and energy-efficient appliances and windows, to name a few.  If program-point requirements are exceeded, homeowners enjoy rebates back on permit fees.  As with most things, some people love the program, some dislike it.
