Crested Butte Public Transportation

The Gunnison Valley Rural Transportation Authority operates bus service between the cities of Mt. Crested Butte, The Town of Crested Butte, the City of Gunnison and a multitude of rural stops in-between.  The RTA is funded by an additional sales tax percentage charged through-out Gunnison County.  The taxing authority that funds the RTA is set to expire December 2009.  RTA’s supporters are presenting sales tax re-authorization resolutions to the various Gunnison County municipalities to assure that the RTA continues in operations.  In the meantime, additional bus stops and Park & Rides are being planned and added.  Additional RTA improvements include increased postings of bus schedules and the addition of bike rakes on some of the buses.
