Keystone’s New Gondola

The main River Run Gondola is in the process of being replaced with a larger-capacity and faster-speed gondola.  The new eight-passenger enclosed gondola will have floor-to-ceiling windows with room to accommodate skis and snowboards inside of the cabin.  The new gondola will be able to transport 2,400 passengers per hour which is over twice the previous capacity.  The 2,300 vertical feet distance will be covered in under 12-minutes.  A new mid-station is planned providing off-loading and up-loading.  The gondola will operate through-out the summer months to accommodate summer visitors engaged in hiking, mountain biking, mountain tubing and other summer mountain activites.
