University Of Colorado - Boulder

The State of Colorado’s flagship university is located in Boulder.  Considered a dynamic community of both learners and scholars, CU’s faculty includes four Nobel laureates.  Established in 1877 before Colorado statehood, CU is now home to over 30,000 students including under-graduate and graduate programs.  Notable academic programs include the sciences, music, engineering, education, business, arts, law, humanities, and many other disciplines.  CU offers 3,400 courses in approximately 150 fields of study.  Eighty-five majors are offered at the bachelor’s level, 70 majors at the master’s level and 50 areas of study at the doctoral level.

CU has its own Research Park east of the main campus.  Here you will find CU’s Laboratory for Atmospheric and Space Physics as well as CU-Boulder’s Center for Astrophysics and Space Astronomy.  The Research Park’s Space Technology Building houses many other related programs as well.  CU has approximately 90 research centers, laboratories and institutes that focus on areas ranging from natural hazards to entrepreneurial studies.  The Research Park is planning a $115-million expansion to accommodate a biotechnology research and teaching facility for CU’s Colorado Initiative in Molecular Biotechnology.
