Happy 150th Birthday Breckenridge!

It was 1859 when gold prospectors settled the area occuppied by modern day Breckenridge.  The history of Breck is rich filled with stories and colorful characters.  Saloons and brothels saw both the boom times and the busts.  Breckenridge’s current economy is only 30-years old ushered in by the white gold of the ski industry.  At the turn-of-the-century, snow was a problem while today it is eagerly awaited each ski season.

Breckenridge’s 150th birthday party is not a single-day, rather it extends through-out the year.  The official Breck150 Kick-Off Party celebrating Breckenridge’s 150th anniversary is incorporated into Breckenridge’s Annual Spring Massive celebration that includes the Massive Brewfest, mountain competitions and live concerts among other events.  For a complete list of events, visit Breck150.
